Dictionary Distribution to Burlingame 3rd Graders
This is an annual event where members of Burlingame Rotary and Mid-Peninsula Rotaract Clubs go into third-grade classrooms and with the help of Principals and Classroom Teachers give each student their own Illustrated Dictionary.

World Community Service:
Water Project in Ecuador
This is a cooperative project headed by the Rotary Club of Half Moon Bay with partner clubs all over District 5150 and around the U.S. including the Rotary Club of Burlingame. It provides fresh, clean water to a village near Guayaquil, Ecuador. Our partner club in Ecuador provides the labor and additional funding.
Book Project in Nicaragua
This project is a partner project headed by the Rotary Club of San Mateo and others to provide reading books to children in village schools in Nicaragua.
Scholarships
Make A Difference
This fund was started by member Jay Plank with matching funds from the members and board of the club provides scholarships to outstanding students attending local Community Colleges and particularly the College of San Mateo. Over $3,000 was awarded in 2009.
Club Scholarship Fund
Burlingame Rotary has partnered with Burlingame High School since about 1994, to provide four-year and one-year scholarships to deserving scholars headed off to the halls of higher learning. This includes the Marty Welsh Scholarship, Ernie "Doc" Scheppler Scholarship and Burlingame Rotary Scholarships. The total awarded annually is over $20,000.
