Last week, we had two events.
On Wednesday, November 14 our three clergy members (Michael Mahoney, Jay Miller, Paul Watermulder) spoke to us about being thankful for all we have and all of our blessings. Each of clergy related different perspectives on Thanksgiving but came to the same conclusion that we have much to be thankful for.
On Thursday, November 14, our annual Fun Fairies party was held at Suzanne Juptner. Thanks to the Fun Fairies for getting our holiday season off to a rousing beginning.
Holiday Lunch:
Our annual Holiday lunch will be held on Wednesday, December 12th at 11:30am at Sapore Restaurant (1447 Burlingame Avenue). The cost is $40 per person. We are encouraging all to invite and bring guests. We are asking that you RSVP (yes or no) through our sign-up sheet at meetings (many of you have already done so) or by emailing me at marcfrd@pacbell.net or calling 650-342-4045.
Paradise Fire Relief Fund:
The Paradise Rotary Club will be accepting donations to be used to assist folks in the short and long term via the “The Paradise Rotary Foundation”. Since they are pretty sure that the Paradise Post Office is gone, they have asked that donations be mailed c/o Scheer Memorial Chapel, 2410 Foothill Blvd, Oroville, Ca 95966. This is the District Governor's Oroville location.

December 5 - Lunch Meeting at Poplar Creek at 12:15pm. Our speaker will be Mike Matteucci of the Burlingame Police Department.

December 12 - Annual Christmas Lunch at Sapore Restaurant at 11:30am (1447 Burlingame Avenue). See flyer below.

January 8 - Salon at Cheri Delacy Carr's house (148 Elm Burlingame). Dave Upchurch will lead a discussion on the last days of Theranos.
January 9 - Lunch meeting at Poplar Creek at 12:15pm. Our speaker will be Brenda Gonzalez, a Rotary Scholar who will address the growing challenges that make domestic violence an even trickier issue to address in Silicon Valley today, ranging from financial obstacles to leaving an abusive situation to increased availability of technology that abusers/stalkers use to control their victims.
January 16 - Lunch meeting at Poplar Creek at 12:15pm. Bob Doerr and Fritz Brauner will facilitate a video presentation.
January 23 - Social meeting at 5:00pm at Poplar Creek followed by a club assembly.
