Let’s Review What Happened Last Week: At our July 18th meeting, we had 3 more Burlingame Rotarians sign up for my President's Club special bringing the total of those who already signed up to 24. If you sign-up and pay prior to or at our August 1st meeting, your cost to join the President's Club is only $100. If you have yet to take advantage of this unbelievably good deal, please see our accounting team at the Welcome Desk at our next meeting. Thank you to all who signed up. The rest of you be aware of those Rotary fines. Cary Koh told us about the latest developments for our October 1st golf tournament. We are currently accepting sign-ups for sponsorships and players. You can sign-up at any of our meetings and in the very near future on our website. John Delaney spoke about volunteer opportunities at Burlingame Chamber of Commerce's Burlingame on the Avenue Festival to be held August 18th and 19th. Burlingame Rotarians will be staffing a food/drink booth from 2:30pm to 7:00pm on Saturday, August 8th and 10:30am to 2:30pm on Sunday, August 9th. We are looking for at least 6 volunteers each day. All tips go to the Service Fund. To sign-up contact John Delaney at JDelaney@bostonprivatebank.com. Our speaker was John McKnight, the Director of Disaster Services for the Golden State Division of the Salvation Army. John told us about some of his recent experiences in providing disaster services. Additionally, he filled us on the history of the Salvation Army including the origin of the term "falling off the wagon". He also provided some excellent suggestions for what each of us can do to survive if a disaster should strike us or our home.
