The Homeless Initiatives Project, "The Way Out"

The Salvation Army has recently started a new Homeless Initiatives Project called "The Way Out". Theo Ellington, Homeless Initiatives and Community Development Director for the Golden State Division, is leading the Salvation Army as they attempt to redeploy some real estate assets in San Francisco and grow their programs in substance abuse and job training. Although sources of Homelessness are multiple, the Salvation Army is focusing on the segment of the population that is homeless due to drug dependency.

Prior to joining the Salvation Army, Theo Ellington was the Public Affairs Coordinator for the Golden State Warriors, and helped negotiate the move from the Oracle Arena in Oakland to the the Chase Center in San Francisco.
