America’s Public Lands: Looking Back and Ahead

John Leshy, Professor Emeritus at UC Law SF, Solicitor (General Counsel) of the U.S. Interior Department (1993-2001), and author of Our Common Ground (Yale U. Press, 2022), will explain how the U.S. came to hold more than 600 million acres of land primarily for open space preservation and public enjoyment, and conclude with some speculations about what might lie ahead for them.
