Aubrey Merriman, CEO
LifeMoves

LifeMoves, formerly Shelter Network, has been successfully transitioning families, veterans and others from homelessness into permanent housing since it was founded by then-San Mateo County Supervisor Jackie Speier and others in 1987. It now is the largest provider of homeless services in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties. Its sites include First Step for Families, adjacent to Burlingame in San Mateo, and the Vendome in downtown San Mateo.

LifeMoves has been innovating rapidly during the pandemic, delivering more services as the need has arisen. Aubrey will update us on the state of homelessness in San Mateo County, and how the agency’s programs are effectively returning people to stable housing and helping to solve the crisis of homelessness.

Prior to joining LifeMoves, Aubrey was CEO of the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Mateo, was ED of Summer Search Silicon Valley, and Chief Development Officer of Special Olympics of Northern California and Nevada. He is a graduate of Stanford University’s School of Business Executive Program for Non-Profit Officers, graduated summa cum laude from Hawaii Pacific University and has a master’s degree in social work from the University of Hawaii. He was recognized with the Paul Harris Fellows Award from the South San Francisco Rotary Club.

Aubrey resides in San Jose with his wife and three children.
