Our next meeting is September 19th and is a lunch meeting at 12:15pm at Poplar Creek. Our speaker will be Lauren Barranti (Mrs. Ricardo Ortiz) who will speak on home medical equipment. Golf Tournament chairman Mike Horwitz will be presiding and he will be soliciting volunteers for a variety of tasks at the October 1st golf tournament. So if you are not playing, please come prepared to sign-up to volunteer.
Marilyn Orr will also be collecting final sign-ups for the club barbecue. The barbecue is on October 1st at Peninsula Country Club - it follows the golf tournament with cocktails beginning at 5:00pm and dinner at 6:00pm. Since this is a mandatory event (you are going to pay for it whether you attend or not), why not attend?
Our September 26th social meeting will be held at CuriOdyssey (1651 Coyote Point Drive, San Mateo) from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. It is a joint meeting with San Mateo Rotary.

Our speaker was Bill Cook who gave an interesting talk on cybersecurity. He provided examples of new types of liabilities that have been created by the growth of our on line economy. Sad News
Carole Rodoni, an entertaining and frequent speaker at our club, passed away on Friday, September 14th. She was 75. You can find her obituary by clicking here. There will be a memorial service for Carole at 10am on Thursday, September 20th at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Carole will be missed.
Golf Tournament and Club Barbecue:
Our annual golf tournament and barbecue is Monday, October 1st. You can sign-up for either or both on our web page - www.burlingamerotary.org. The barbecue is a mandatory event. All members must pay for whether they attend or not so why not attend. Besides your annual dues, the barbecue is the only other mandatory expenditure for Burlingame Rotary members.

It will be held at the big room at the Basque Cultural Center, so approximately 300 attendees can be accommodated.
