A retiree after 53 years of being a CEO, a Licensed Family Therapist, and an educator, Charlow spent his first 25 years growing up in a Borscht Belt hotel with his three-generation family of hotel originators. He spent the next 50 years of his life using the lessons he learned from those experiences.

Charlow’s book “A Catskill Carnival: My Borscht Belt Life Lived, Lost and Loved,” the author details not only the era and area but also the culture of the resorts, the life of a self-described ‘hotel brat’ and his transformation from his ambivalence towards it in his youth to eventually adoring it in his adulthood.
