Palcare: Past, Present, and Future 

Palcare opened in 1993 through a combined effort of SFO, the County of San Mateo, and the San Mateo Central Labor Council after S.F. Chronicle articles detailed how some airport employees were leaving their children in cars at night and taking turns going out to check on them.

Palcare was the first of its kind and the only in our region to offer 24/7 child care, flexible/changing schedules for working families, and funding to support low- and middle-income families.
